What’s really nice about the event is that we all could vote for the best players in FIFA 23. TOTY voting started on January 10 at 11 am EST / 4 pm GMT / 5 pm CET. Everyone could put together their personal dream team until January 17 and the players with the most votes made it into the final Team of the Year XI.

All FIFA 23 Team of the Year players including the 12th man and Honourable Mentions are in packs since January 27! Icons were out for a short period of time, but you can pack them until the end of TOTY.

Kylian Mbappé got the most votes of any forward with 23%. Kevin de Bruyne was the most successful midfielder with 21%, Achraf Hakimi the best defender with 15% and Thibaut Courtois the strongest goalkeeper with 56%.

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland beat his team-mate João Cancelo and Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde in the 12th man voting. He gets a 96 OVR!

The new TOTY Icons have topped their previous versions again and, after the World Cup Icons, are the best Icons in the game. As always, you can find them all in our article – there are also new Moments leaks and SBC.

Over the course of a year, there are so many players that show outstanding performances. But EA Sports can’t give all of them a TOTY card. That’s why they introduced the Honourable Mentions. This year, there are three players that we can unlock by playing!
